The fall meeting and refresher of NSP Eastern Division Avalanche, Mountain Travel & Rescue, and Nordic instructors will be held at Northfield, Massachusetts, the weekend of September 5 – 7, 2008. Our hosts will be the Northfield Mountain Recreation and Environmental Center and the Northfield Mountain Nordic Ski Patrol.

Registration

There are no fees for this event. We will provide a light continental breakfast Saturday and Sunday mornings and a picnic-style lunch Saturday. Attendees will make arrangements for other meals.

Travel Directions

Directions Northfield Mountain is located near the junction of I-91 and Route 2 near the intersection of Massachusetts, Vermont, and New Hampshire. Find driving directions, maps, and related help here.

Camping

Camping Barton Cove, managed by Northfield Mountain, is the group campground for the event. The campsite is wooded and scenic. See photos of the campgrounds and more details.

Recreation at Northfield Mountain

Northfield Mountain offers a variety of opportunities for outdoor recreation. Twenty-five miles of wide trails welcome horse riders, hikers, mountain bikers, runners, snowshoers, and cross-country skiers. The trails system connects with the tri-state Metacomet-Monadnock Trail, which runs from southern Connecticut to southern New Hampshire.
